Simple wooden school building with a tin roof and brick chimney. Two windows and one door can be seen. A sign is posted on a wood beam in the front and it reads "Enterprise School." The building is in an empty, rural location with a few shrubs around it. |
Historical note |
Enterprise School was a one-room school for African American students in Bells. Essie Sharpe was the principal and teacher for all grades, 1 through 7. In 1939, there were 30 students in attendance. |
