Historical note |
The Julius Rosenwald Fund was one of the private Northern philanthropic foundations that operated in Tennessee to aid the cause of black education. Fayette County received $13,000 from the Fund for school construction by July 1, 1930. For Mt. Zion Hebrew Colored Consolidated School, Rosenwald contributed $700; public funds contributed $1,500; and black donors contributed $1,300. |
