Two-story brick structure divided into three sections. The trim along the front of the building appears to be late Art Deco. Over the center doorway is a sign reading "Elementary School." An American flag flies atop the roof and a chimney can be seen at right. |
Historical note |
This application, submitted in 1939, was withdrawn. Consequently, the form is blank, except for the front page. The principal, Richard Womack, had twelve classrooms with as many teachers. The length of the term was eight months. In 1939, 474 students were enrolled, down from an average daily attendance of 531 students the year before. In 1939, D. G. White was superintendent of Hardin County Schools. |
