Pvt. John Marshall Dickey, Co. A , 44th Tenn. Inf. Regt., CSA. He was detailed as blacksmith, captured at Chickamauga, and held at Rock Island Prison until May 1865. Dickey was born in Franklin County, Tenn. on March 18, 1840. In this post Civil War cabinet card, Dickey is seated in a wicker rocking chair and wears a Masonic collar and apron and clasps a gavel. Dickey lived near Kelso, Lincoln County (Tenn.) and died November 24, 1920. He is buried in Kelso (Tenn.). |
