Description |
Ambrotype of Confederate Pvt. Simpson Evans. He was born August 5, 1834, in Arkansas. Evans married Nancy Jane Coburn on February 28, 1858. He enlisted in Co. A, McGehee's Regiment, Arkansas Cav., CSA, on June 17, 1862. He surrendered on May 17, 1865,; and was paroled at Wittsburg, Arkansas, on May 25, 1865. Evans died April 16, 1910, in Fayette County, Tenn. He is buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hickory Withe (Fayette County), Tenn. |
