Membership ribbon for the Grand Army of the Republic, O. P. Morton Post 36. Belonged to J. W. Oliver, Co. F., 4th TN Inf., Regt., father of donor. This unit was composed of Unionist men exiled from Confederate-controlled East Tennessee who mustered in at Nashville. They served in middle Tennessee and, later in the war, in the eastern part of the state. |
