Four people standing in a wooded area identified as remains of the 1st Mich. Inf. Regt., USCT, breastworks, 1908. According to the memoir in Dick018, these breastworks were built by a black Michigan infantry unit to defend the railroad and were involved in a raid by Duval McNairy's partisan rangers. See also dick018 and dick021. |
