Description |
UCV reunion medal, Nashville, June 22-28, 1897. Gold-colored shield suspended from bar marked "SOUVENIR." The shield displays crossed U.S. and Stars and Bars flags. Reunion was held during the Tennessee Centennial Exposition. Medal is thought to have belonged to former Pvt. Ford George, Co. D, 9th Tenn. Cav. Bn. Ford was a farmer in civilian life and had owned slaves. Purchased at a local estate sale. |
