Description |
William & Sara McDonald's wedding photograph. The couple were married on June 2, 1856. William (1838-1899) joined Co. C, Gantt's 9th Bn., Tenn. Cav. Regt., CSA, during the war. He fought at Forts Henry and Donelson (1862). Unlike most at Ft. Donelson, this regiment was not captured. In civilian life, William was a farmer in Anderson's Bend, Hickman Co. Sara was born in 1837. Supplemental material includes his service record and her application for a Confederate widow's pension. |
