Photograph of Pvt. William Joshua Thomas Sr., Hale's (later Jackson's) Battery, Va. Lt. Arty., CSA, in civilian clothing. Thomas enlisted April 18, 1863, at Dublin. He was captured August 7, 1864, at Moorefield, Virginia (now West Virginia) and confined in Camp Chase, Ohio, Prison 3. On March 18, 1865, he was sent from Camp Chase to Point Lookout, Maryland, for exchange. He was furloughed for 30 days during which time the war ended. |
