Tintype of Dr. George W. Gullett, of Robertson County, Tenn., who served as Acting Asst. Surgeon, Malone's Regt., Ky. Cav., CSA. Captured February 1, 1865, he appears on a list of prisoners of war at Nashville captured by forces under Maj. Gen. George H. Thomas, sent to Louisville, Ky. and then to Camp Chase, Ohio. He died in prison of "Varioloid" (smallpox) on March 21, 1865. Many of his Civil War service records have 9 Ala. crossed out, replaced by Malone's Regt., Ky. The final one lists 15th Ky. Cav. |
