Historical note |
The quartermaster was responsible for supplying the army with clothing, transportation, horses, equipment, tents, lumber, fuel, and any other supplies necessary for the army to move effectively. The warehouse in Nashville was located near the center of town. U.S. Quartermaster's Warehouse, 1864.
