Historical note |
J. L. Goodloe was born in Madison County, Mississippi, on September 3, 1840. He enlisted in Company E of the Twenty-eighth Mississippi Cavalry in 1861. Mr. Goodloe was was wounded at Cassville, Georgia, in May 1864 and captured in Allatoona, Georgia,; in June 1864. He was then imprisoned at Rock Island until his parole in February 1865. He would go on to practice law in Memphis, Tennessee. |
