Historical note |
The dedication of the Dyersburg Confederate Monument occurred on April 6, 1905, the anniversary of the Battle of Shiloh. The Dawson Bivouac of Dyersburg spearheaded the effort to raise money for the monument. Speakers at the dedication included Maecenas Benton, Gov. Jeff Davis of Arkansas, Sen. Edward Ward Carmack, Sen. James B. Frazier, Col. Luke Finley, and Samuel Rankin Latta. |
