Historical Note |
Born in Auburn, New York, she married Cyrus Aiken in 1837 and they moved to Illinois. She enlisted as a nurse with the Sixth Illinois Cavalry near the beginning of the Civil War. She would later care for Union soldiers at Ovington Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She was friends with Mary A. "Mother" Sturges. |
