Historical note
A copy of official U.S . Army Signal Corps photographs . Most likely obtained by Francis B . "Dolly " Warfield since it represents an area of the front of where his unit (105th Engineers Regiment , 30th Infantry Division) was stationed . On October 11 , 1918 , the division occupied Vaux-Andigny , La Haie-Menneressee and reached the northwestern outskirts of St . Martin-Riviere , its front extending north along the west bank of the La Selle River . The division returned to the line on the night of October 15 and 16 .
