Description |
Angled view of the Transportation Building at the Tennessee Centennial Exposition. Constructed in the Italian Renaissance style, the building had a very simplistic appearance. A gazebo stands in the forefront. |
Historical note |
The Transportation Building was located in the northwestern section of the park near the Railway exhibits and Terminal Station Building. The building had a frontage of four hundred feet and a depth of one hundred and twenty-five feet. Railroad tracks ran throughout the building, and doors at the north end could admit trains and engines. The interior had displays of railway trains, carriages, wagons, bicycles, and all types of rolling stock. |
